This April, Lundquist College undergraduates had the opportunity to get better acquainted with representatives from six high-profile employers: Amica Mutual Insurance Company, Apple, Multnomah Athletic Club, Oracle, Translations.com, and the U.S. Department of State.
Organized by the college's Career Services office, this term's Employer Showcase took place the day before the University of Oregon's Spring Career Fair.
“The showcase setting gives our students a chance to get a more in-depth look at some of the organizations that they'll see the following day at the Career Fair," said Ronnie Casanova, the college's assistant director for employer development.
After ten-minute presentations from each organization, it was time for some networking. Students introduced themselves to the presenters, asked questions, and shared their resumes.
“Making these connections with potential employers gives our students a real advantage at the Career Fair—and beyond," said Career Services director Jane Evarian. “Students gain confidence when they see a familiar face at the next day at the fair. At the same time, employers appreciate getting better acquainted with potential hires."
